Case Management

Case management services are available to help all students navigate challenges while at University of Miami including those related to mental health, physical health, social adjustment and other issues.

Through these services we interact regularly with various University and community resources to address the needs of students. If you are in need of assistance or concerned about another student, please contact us.

Services Offered

  • Crisis intervention
  • Emotional support and short-term counseling for students in crisis
  • Outreach to students of concern
  • Referrals to campus and community resources
  • Consultation with faculty and staff regarding students of concern and supporting students

When to Refer to Case Management

  • Mental health issues
  • Concerns about substance use
  • History of suicidal thoughts or behaviors
  • Appears to have an eating disorder or disordered body image
  • Ongoing serious illness impacting daily living activities
  • Current hospitalization
  • Death of family member or close friend

Reporting a Concern

  • Call 305-284-5353 and ask to speak with the Associate Dean and Social Worker or Case Manager.
  • Students may report a concern about a peer at 'Canes Care for 'Canes.

  • In case of an emergency or a concern about the safety of yourself or others, please contact University of Miami Police Department at 305-284-6666 or call 911.
