Conduct Process

"I was involved in an incident or I received a Notice to Appear from the University – now what?"

Students are sometimes documented by University authorities or the police if they are involved in - or a witness to - an incident that occurred. The Dean of Students Office aids the University with the investigation of these incidents by working directly with those students involved.

If you, as a student, were involved in an incident you will be sent a Notice to Appear via your university email. This communication will outline your rights in the Student Conduct process and set a date and time for you to meet an Investigator.

Depending on the nature of the incident, the specific investigation process will differ slightly. The Dean of Students office will be in communication with those involved every step of the way. At the end of the investigative process, sanctions may be assigned in accordance with the nature of the incident.

You can learn more about the investigative process and conduct procedures in the Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook. If you have questions about a notice you have received from the Dean of Students Office contact us.
