The purpose of the Student Affairs Crisis Coordinators (SACC) is to establish a swift and appropriate response to crisis situations affecting the health, safety, and welfare of University of Miami students. The SACC team works closely with medical, law enforcement, and mental health professionals to ensure that someone from the Division of Student Affairs is available 24 hours a day to support students and the families of students involved in crisis situations. Please be advised that SACC is an internal emergency protocol and is not intended to supplant police, fire rescue, and others who are designated as first responders to emergency situations. In emergency situations, please call 911. Additionally, the University’s major emergency response and continuity planning is coordinated by the Office of Emergency Management.
